Probably the largest purchase your family will make is your home. If you've chosen to work with a custom builder to construct your dream home, then you need the confidence in that builder to make your dream a reality. Builder members of the WestTNHBA are able to offer their customers the New Home Limited Warranty to provide peace of mind for their customers, and themselves.
Registering the Warranty Through WestTNHBA
Our system of checks and balances for the warranty program is simple: just call in to WestTNHBA's Central Office and request a registered number for your New Home Limited Warranty before you offer it to the homeowner. Once the warranty is signed by the contractor and the homeowner, a copy of the signature pages is returned to our Central Office to be kept on file. We register the number and the property address so that if questions arise during the warranty period, we can verify that the warranty was issued. The warranty program is overseen by the Builder Standards Committee.
Only active members of the association are allowed to issue the WestTNHBA New Home Limited Warranty. This provides reassurance to homeowners that they are working with professional contractors, accountable to the association for acceptable standards of work and who abide by a signed Code of Ethics. Should a complaint arise during the warranty period, there are steps that a consumer should follow to make that complaint.
